Procrastination is any writer’s nightmare. However, hard you try to keep it at bay, it creeps up and messes with your plans.

But, while I’ve been rubbish at posting and sharing a huge amount of creative stuff has been doing its thing in the background.

Here’s what I’ve been up to:

  • Each month, I’ve been jotting down some of the strange and curious things people say in everyday conversation. Then, when the final day arrives, be it the 28th, 30th or 31st, I’m compiling them into a poem. I like to think of the monthly poem as being crowd sourced. To read the poems pop over to my books page.
  • I’m well on the way to finishing the 2nd draft of the final book (yes, at least for now) in the Your World series. It’s taking shape with the help of Sketch, her friends and some new characters who are making their way into the limelight.
  • In my day job at Shannon Trust, I’ve been authoring and co-authoring some new titles in our Turning Pages series. These books are designed for adults new to reading. Working with someone else has been a fun process and sparked lots of new ideas.
  • And finally, I’ve been generating lots of creative content at local Creative Writes workshops.
