When I read a book, the characters form in my head. Even before the films I had an idea what Harry Potter looked like and I could imagine the people in the Handmaids Tale. They aren’t always fully formed, because for me the personality and their actions are stronger than their facial features or how tall they are.

It’s the same with my own characters. If you asked me to draw them I’d come unstuck. But the other day I remembered you could customise Lego figures. The giant child inside me began to jump up and down with glee, goading me on to DO IT!

Now, Mini figs – the magic site of making Lego people – doesn’t live in my head so they’ve not got all the components. They don’t have perfect short, blonde spiky hair for Sketch, but scrolling through the web store I selected enough bits to make a cool approximation of what I thought would be Sketch and Maud.

It was more than a little exciting when they arrived and now I want ALL THE LEGO PEOPLE.

It would be fascinating to see what you think the characters in the Your World Series look like, so pop over to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter and post a pic!
