When we read words on a page, we bring our own interpretation to what the author intended when they wrote them. It’s what brings joy to reading. Because of this, it was fascinating to be hear one of my short stories read by an actor and listen to their nuanced understanding of the piece.
This week, during the first night of the From The Forest Festival, ‘In Plain Sight’ was performed by Ursula Early in front of small audience. Because of its length, they decided upon an abridged version and the character of Magnus becomes Russian rather than Swedish. The result is a joy to watch.
